Overview
Offered for sale is this highly desirable and beautifully presented 1969 Porsche 911E Sunroof Coupe, finished in its original Burgundy (Code 6808) with a factory-correct black interior. Featuring its matching-numbers engine, known ownership history from new, and tasteful light restoration work, this example stands out not only for its rarity but also for its drivability and careful ownership. This is a car that’s been well looked after and driven — not left in a garage. The current owner has toured the UK and in June 2025, it completed a two-week, 2,000-mile round trip to the South of France without issue, showcasing the mechanical reliability of this early MFI 911. While not strictly a touring car, the 911E was engineered to offer a more refined and user-friendly driving experience, positioning it as a capable fast grand tourer within the 911 range.

Body & Paint
- Bare-metal restoration completed in March 2023 to return the car to its original factory colour 6808 Burgundy
- All panels and gaps present beautifully
- Brightwork and trim were either re-anodised or re-chromed in 2020 and are in excellent condition
- Historical note: When bodywork paint was being stripped, it became noticeable that the rear right side had seen some damage repair in the past. Bert, the 1st owner, explained: “The rear quarter panel damage was my contribution! It was in my wilder days. One day I was feeling frisky and showing a buddy what a hot driver I was. I lost her on a corner and sideswiped a car coming the other way!” Needless to say, all traces of that damage have long since been corrected. No other signs of accident damage were found, and nearly all of the body panels look to be original

Previous Owner Comments
Bert (Original Owner):
“I picked her up at the factory and took her on a proper break-in tour across Europe — including a memorable run on the Autobahn at 120 mph chasing down a Mercedes. What a car.”
Paul (Owner in the '90s):
“It was mistakenly listed as a 911S — but I knew exactly what I was getting. I loved that car and I’m glad it’s still being enjoyed today.”
Bill (2017–2019):
“It's a solid driver — shiny black paint, some battle scars, but mechanically strong. I always thought it deserved to return to its original Burgundy.”
